In this interview, Cecelia Joza speaks about her father, Jacinto Comacho, who was one of ACORN’s original homesteaders, and what it was like for her family to be squatting and in the fight. She was around 22 years old at the time. After the squatting, ACORN won a program to turn the properties over to the squatters through a Mutual Housing Association (MHANY), which was set up by ACORN. Joza has worked at MHANY for 22 years and continues her father’s legacy.
