Gloria White
Gloria White served on the SEIU bargaining comittee that led to tends of thousands of homecare and childcare workers recieving benefits, and is now a member of the SEIU HCIIMK Retiree group. In this interview, she shares stories of various door-to-door campaigns she participated in. She also tells a story about the time she spoke about high drug costs to an audience of hundreds under the rotunda at the State House. She recalls standing at the podium and unpacking her bag of a dozen or so personal medications, and looking up to see so many people listening to her. She emphasizes the thrill of finding her voice, the power in people raising their voices in numbers, and she also encourages others to raise their voices for the struggle for better access to health insurance benefits.
