Hazel Dasent

Hazel DaSent was a member/leader in NY ACORN. She was an activist in Guyana before coming to the US. She was on the ACORN board, as well as the MHANY board — she lives in MHANY housing. She is also on the NYCOFI board. In her interivew, De Sante alludes to some internal ACORN board conflicts (maybe personality based), which led her to leave and get more involved with MHANY. She also speaks about direct action, meeting others from around the country through ACORN, and New York’s successor organization.
