Marcia Biggs-Morrison speaks about her work as an in-home childcare provider. She was active in the joint ACORN/UFT childcare campaign to unionize providers. She mentions rallies to fight for higher wages and some actions against bad landlords for tenants in Rockaway, Queens. She stayed active with the Queens ACORN and then NYCC, an ACORN successor organization in New York–even after she moved to North Carolina. She is still a member and Zooms-in to meetings. Biggs-Morrison also mentions strength in numbers and getting fed up with injustice, and “doing crazy things” to speak up.
