Pastor Christiana Ford worked as an organizer for ACORN from around 1995-2000 in New Orleans. She had heard about ACORN in the community and knocked on their door to ask for a job because she needed income to support herself and her five children. She quickly became one of the best organizers in the organization, winning the #1 Organizer Award twice. In this interview, she talks about her experiences door knocking, winning the Living Wage campaign in New Orleans, the lessons she took from the organization about continuing to fight even after you lose, and how ACORN shaped her work as a pastor.
