Christina Livingston
Christina joined the California ACORN staff in 2004 as a field organizer, eventually became the California ACORN field director and then deputy director until the destruction of ACORN. Subsequently, she was deputy director and then Executive Director of the California successor organization, ACCE, and still serves as ACCE ED. In this interview, Christina talks about growing up in a low income family in CA, her first experiences door-knocking for ACORN, and how she took on more and more leadership roles in the organization. She discussed how CA ACORN experienced the 2009 attacks on the organization, and then her work to create and build ACCE. Finally, she reflects on how ACORN’s focus on base-building has been central to how she has structured ACCE in the years since 2009.
