Erika Gomez-Tejeda worked with ACORN in New York starting in 1996. She was a lead organizer in the Bronx, and set up a training program. She explains that she set up the training program because her training wasn’t great. She was an organizer in college and a professor steered her towards ACORN or WFP. She did tenant organizing and is most proud of the living wage campaigns she ran and won. She speaks a lot about the great ACORN model and how she used it in every organization she went to after. She currently works in Florida on immigrants rights issues.
