After graduating college, Jon Green went to work for ACORN and the New Party. He spent most of his time in Chicago, working for the New Party and organizing with ACORN on a variety of political and issue campaigns before moving to Connecticut. He worked for ACORN briefly there while working to get the New Party off the ground. In this interview, Green reflects on ACORN’s organizing model, its efficacy and sustainability, as well as the race, class and gender dynamics of the organization. He shares his thoughts on the end of ACORN and how activists and organizers should interpret its legacy.
