Leroy Johnson joined ACORN as a volunteer member in the early 2000s, becoming the Flatbush Chapter President and a New York board member. In this interview, Johnson describes how an organizer knocked on his door and he immediately became active. He went to the ACORN office the very next day to help build the chapter. Johnson reflects on the kind of power that ACORN was able to build, and the change that ACORN made in his community and society at large. It is a short interview, as Leroy was battling cancer and laid down for most of the interview. He passed away not long after this interview.
